  • Lack of quality default data in the region for IRB banks. Should IRB banks be allowed to use surrogate data if their own data pools are not of sufficient size?
  • Problems with designing a methodology for internal bank rating systems for smaller regulators
  • Capital Adequacy Assessment Plans - one size does not fit all
  • Compatibility and consistency issues between the Basel 2 framework and the Islamic Financial Standards Board Capital Adequacy framework
  • Will the US regulators accept other rating agencies? What are the prospects for the smaller rating agencies in a post Basel 2 world?

    - BNY is essentially done and other mandated banks are in progress
